BLOG | I HAD TO BUY THIS MAGAZINE

by Kevin Preston | 6t October 2013

I was in my local WHSmiths yesterday looking at the digital drawing magazines, just flicking through admiring all the cool artwork. I didn’t intend to buy anything, but then I picked up a magazine and saw a digital painting on one of the pages go zooming by. I couldn’t believe what I had just saw, and I quickly flicked back to the page and just looked at the image in awe for a few minutes.I was shocked, I don’t what it was about this image, I’ve noticed that every now and again I will see an image, a drawing, a painting or whatever and it will just make me feel funny inside. Even now, after all this time looking at this image, it still just hits me in the right spot.

I started scanning the article and about the artist who made the digital painting, I ended up getting me iPhone out and taking a photo of it and jotting down her name. I wanted to see if I could find her online when I got home, so I went out of WHSmith and intended to go home, but I just couldn’t get that image out of my head.

I ended up going back into WHSmith and buying the magazine just for that one image! :) Here’s the amazing image inside –

The magazine is called Comic Artist, it comes with a DVD with over 5 hours of tutorial videos including a video by the artist Cris Delara as she creates this image that I have now fallen in love with :)

I’ve found her online too, and my goodness, she has to be one of the best artists. Her art just does it for me, I love love love her artwork and am so glad I randomly walked into WHSmiths today, I never planned too, it was destiny that this image would enter my life!
